Appointments

You are able to book up to 2 weeks ahead and be offered the first available appointment. Reception will ask you about your problem so they can direct you to the most appropriate person to help you.

You are able to book appointments in 3 different ways via Emis access (online), on the telephone or in person at reception.

Requests for urgent appointments

If you request a same day/urgent appointment you may be given an initial telephone consultation. The doctor or nurse will phone you back and may be able to deal with your problem, give you appropriate advice or arrange for you to be seen more quickly.  

Telephone Consultations

The Doctors are happy to consult over the telephone. If you would like one please ask reception for a telephone consultation.

Self Check-In

Self Check In is an easy to use touch screen system that allows patients to check themselves in for appointments. Please help keep the queues down at reception by checking yourself in.

Online Appointments

EMIS Access is the new and convenient way to book appointments with your GP over the internet. EMIS Access services available at your surgery include:

• Online appointment booking
• Repeat prescription ordering
• Secure messaging

Before you can start booking GP appointments online, or use any of the other EMIS Access  features, you must first register your details for this service. It’s quick and easy to register – simply contact reception.

Remember, when using EMIS Access all your personal information is safe and secure.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Emergencies will be dealt with at all times.

Non-NHS/Private Services

The GPs provide a number of services which are not covered under the NHS, for example HGV medicals, signing of passport forms, insurance forms and travel cancellation documents. There are charges for these services and you shall be advised about these beforehand.

GP Training

We are a teaching practice. Doctors, nurses and students spend time here during their training. We have qualified doctors who are training to be GP’s (registrars) and also have final year medical students from Keele University and Birmingham University.
