TRAINING DOCTORS

The Practice is involved in the training of new general practitioners, at any one time we may have working at the practice, second and third year training GP Registrars, they are supervised by their trainers who are Dr Clayson, Dr Yannamani, Dr Sellars and Dr Barkell. Gaining experience in the community is a vital part of their training. If you are unhappy to see one of our trainees please let reception know.

We also accommodate FY2 doctors (foundation year), these are doctors who have completed what used to be known as 'house jobs', they may want to become general practitioners but some wish to specialise in other fields, again it is really important they have experience in the community.

ALL OUR TRAINING DOCTORS ARE QUALIFIED AND HOLD THE APPROPRIATE UK GMC REGISTRATION

MEDICAL STUDENTS

The Peel Medical Practice is proud to be involved in the training of medical students from Birmingham University. From time to time final year students are placed here usually for a month, general practice is a vital part of their training and you may be asked if you mind a student sitting in on your consultation or asked to see a student before you see your doctor. They are always supervised and we thank you for your patience in this matter, if you are unhappy to see a student, please let reception or the doctor you are seeing know.
